Kitsch

The Oxford Dictionary webpage (oxforddictionaries.com) explains Kitsch as "art, objects, or design considered to be in poor taste because of excessive garishness or sentimentality, but sometimes appreciated in an ironic or knowing way". To me this means a piece of art that has been re-created by giving it another kind of meaningless and a cheap image. After reading the article "Kitsch As Only Kitsch Can" I understood the humorous side of Kitsch more better, as I had only found it tasteless and artificial before.
